Privacy Policy

LaakJap was built on a founding promise: your practice is yours. We collect the minimum data necessary to provide the app's subscription service — nothing more. We do not run advertisements, do not sell data, and do not track you across other apps or websites.

All practice data — jap counts, streaks, journal entries, session history, sankalpa progress — is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. It never leaves your device and is never transmitted to LaakJap or any third party.

The two data types we collect are used for one purpose only:

We do not use any collected data for advertising, marketing communications, analytics, product personalisation, or any purpose other than delivering the subscription service.

5. Third-Party Services

RevenueCat — We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions on iOS and Android. RevenueCat processes your purchase history and anonymous device identifier as described above. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Apple App Store / StoreKit — Subscription payments are processed entirely by Apple. LaakJap never has access to your payment card information, bank account, or billing details. Apple's privacy policy governs all payment processing.

We do not integrate any advertising networks, analytics platforms, crash reporting tools, or social media SDKs.

6. Data Retention

Purchase and subscription data held by RevenueCat is retained for the duration of your subscription and for a reasonable period thereafter to handle refund requests and support queries. You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at support@laakjap.com.

All on-device practice data is retained until you delete the app or clear the app's local storage from your device settings. We have no ability to access or delete this data as it never reaches our servers.

7. Children's Privacy

LaakJap is rated 9+ on the Apple App Store. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The only data collected — anonymous device identifier and purchase history — does not constitute personal information under applicable children's privacy laws. If you believe a child has made a purchase through the app, please contact Apple directly to request a refund, and contact us at support@laakjap.com.

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of data we hold about you. Since we hold only minimal subscription-related data, exercising these rights typically means:

Your practice data never leaves your device, which is the strongest form of data security available. Subscription data handled by RevenueCat and Apple is protected by their respective enterprise-grade security infrastructure. We do not operate servers that store your personal practice information.

If we materially change our data practices, we will update this policy and revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes that affect your rights will be communicated through an in-app notice. Continued use of LaakJap after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
