LaakJap is a jap counter and Vedic practice companion application developed and published by LaakJap ("we", "our", "us"). The app is available on iOS and Android and provides tools for mantra japa counting, scripture reading, practice tracking, and related sadhana features.
LaakJap is not a religious authority, spiritual organisation, or healthcare provider. The app is a digital tool to support your personal practice. Interpretations of mantras, scriptures, and Vedic tradition provided within the app are offered for educational and devotional purposes only.
You must be at least 9 years of age to use LaakJap. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you should review these terms with a parent or guardian before using the app or making any purchases.
LaakJap does not require you to create an account. The app operates without login, email registration, or any form of identity verification. Your practice data is stored locally on your device.
You are responsible for maintaining your device and ensuring your practice data is backed up. We are not liable for any loss of practice data resulting from device failure, app deletion, or operating system changes.
Free Tier: LaakJap offers a free tier that includes jap counting for a selection of mantras and community leaderboard access at no charge, with no time limit.
LaakJap Pro: Additional features — including all mantras, the full Vedic scripture library, AI rhythm analysis, laksha japa tracking, and the practice journal — are available through a LaakJap Pro annual subscription.
Billing: Subscriptions are billed annually through Apple (iOS) or Google Play (Android). The price displayed at the time of purchase applies. Prices may vary by region and are set by the respective app store platforms.
Auto-renewal: Your subscription will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time through your device's app store subscription settings.
Refunds: All subscription purchases and refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective refund policies. LaakJap does not directly process payments or issue refunds.
Free trials: If a free trial is offered, unused portions of the trial period are forfeited upon purchase of a subscription.
LaakJap is and will remain free of advertisements. We will never display third-party advertisements within the app, sell advertising space, or allow advertisers to target you based on your use of LaakJap. This is a founding commitment, not a feature that may be removed.
LaakJap content: The LaakJap application, including its design, code, brand identity, yantra symbol, and original written content, is owned by LaakJap and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the app without our express written permission.
Vedic and scriptural content: The mantras, hymns, and scriptural texts within LaakJap are drawn from ancient Vedic tradition and are not owned by LaakJap. Translations and transliterations provided in the app are our own or sourced from public domain materials. We make no claim of ownership over any sacred text.
Your content: Journal entries and practice notes you write within the app remain entirely yours. They are stored only on your device and are never transmitted to or accessed by us.
You agree to use LaakJap only for its intended purpose as a personal spiritual practice tool. You must not:
LaakJap is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose of the mantra texts, translations, or spiritual content provided within the app.
LaakJap is not a substitute for guidance from a qualified guru, spiritual teacher, or religious authority. Mantra practice should be undertaken with appropriate guidance from a qualified teacher where required by your tradition.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, LaakJap and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app — including loss of practice data, loss of subscription access, or any spiritual or personal outcomes associated with the practice facilitated by the app.
Our total liability to you for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the app shall not exceed the amount you paid for your current subscription period.
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of LaakJap shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of India, unless otherwise required by the consumer protection laws of your country of residence.
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notice and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of LaakJap after such notice constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
